What a great time
THRIVE staff and attendees had in
Oxnard, California for the annual West Coast
THRIVE Conference. Three tracks were offered this year with Jen Coursey leading Track I, Kitty Wilder guiding Track II and Chris Coursey directing Track III. The
THRIVE Staff was incredibly blessed with the gracious help of Jackie Wern who volunteered her time for the week. Great job Jackie! Jen led synchronized dancing with the help of Maritza Khouri and Kitty Wilder. We practiced synchronizing our bodies, footsteps and movements in rhythmic fashion. What a task it was but the group excelled. Way to go! Also, the capacity-building exercises proved to be meaningful and edifying.
The location for this conference was at a hotel on the ocean surrounded by a large boat marina with the water practically surrounding the hotel! Talk about beautiful and peaceful! It was great having the chance to experience the conference and at the same time observe sailboats coast smoothly into the harbor. Practically speaking, the conference was a success on many fronts but we believe God moved throughout the week and plenty of folks reported how the experience and skill training will bless them as parents, grandparents, couples, counselors, ministers and leaders. We expect to see many attendees again in the future. Hats off to you,
THRIVE attendees! You invest in yourself, your family and your community when you learn the skills that create healthy families and communities; we are proud of you.
We now look forward to our June
THRIVE Applications Conference in Springfield, Illinois where Dr. Jim Wilder and Dr. Karl Lehman will lead a five day conference teaching on the
Immanuel Process, which is a straightforward yet profound healing process that consists of interacting with the active presence of Jesus and letting Him heal unresolved wounds. Connecting with Jesus in places we felt alone can be extremely beneficial. This breakthrough healing process is changing lives all over the world.
In July we travel to
Montreat College in
North Carolina for an enriching week of
THRIVE Training. We are honored to report that Ed and Maritza Khouri will lead Track I attendees in Growth principles for the first time while Kitty Wilder leads Track II attendees in recovery principles. Another interesting point about this conference is the fact that
THRIVE is the first nondenominational group invited to lead a seminar at the Montreat campus! For years
Montreat College has been exclusive to Presbyterians. As you may recognize,
Montreat College was the familiar grounds to the likes of Billy and Ruth Graham. We feel extremely honored to be a part of history and enjoy the legacy that
Montreat College represents. This
THRIVE Conference will go down as a historical, rich and rewarding week. In November shift gears for another three Track
THRIVE Conference in
Decatur, Illinois. Three Tracks mean much training, interacting and learning of the skills that make a difference in your generation!
