What is Share Immanuel?
Immanuel in Hebrew uses two words that literally mean “God with us” with “El” for God and Immanu for “with us”. Christians recognize this term from Matthew’s use of Isaiah 7:4 to describe Jesus the coming Messiah (quoted in Matthew 1:22-23). Immanuel is good news!
The reality of God with us is a common thread, more like a highway, that runs through Scripture. Starting with the Garden of Eden in Genesis to Jesus, the cross, all the way to the Book of Revelation, God dwelling among His people is a familiar theme. Immanuel is the basis for our faith and hope. Jesus assures us He will never leave us nor forsake us and Share Immanuel refers to the simple yet powerful process where people become aware of God’s active, living Presence in their lives.
Share Immanuel strategically focuses on three steps – Sitting with God, Sharing minds with God and Speaking or telling your redemption story of what happened once you became aware of God. Each step builds on the previous so the fun starts by remembering times you felt close to God. Read more. Share Immanuel refers to a healing process but more importantly, Share Immanuel is a way of life.
